Golf just got a glamorous upgrade. In a bold move combining world-class sport with iconic slow travel, the La Dolce Vita Orient Express has launched a new luxury train experience across Italy’s most prestigious golf destinations — complete with Michelin-starred cuisine, onboard golf pros, and postcard-perfect landscapes.
The experience, unveiled to coincide with the 2025 Italian Open (where the train is a Special Partner), marks a new era of high-end sports tourism. Golfers and their companions will travel in ultimate style aboard one of the world’s most legendary trains, stopping at Italy’s elite clubs while indulging in signature hospitality, fine wine, and curated masterclasses.

A Hole-in-One Deserves the Ultimate Prize
To celebrate the partnership, La Dolce Vita Orient Express is awarding an extraordinary prize to the first player who scores a hole-in-one during the Italian Open: a two-night journey aboard the luxury train, followed by a stay at the soon-to-open Orient Express La Minerva Hotel in Rome — a flagship retreat known for its opulence and charm.
A Dream Itinerary for Golfers
The first journey, Northern Greens, sets off in October 2025. It begins at the prestigious Marco Simone Golf & Country Club — home of the 2023 Ryder Cup — with a welcome event in the exclusive La Dolce Vita Lounge at Rome’s Ostiense Station. From there, guests will travel to a handpicked collection of world-class courses, including:
Franciacorta Golf Club
Royal Park I Roveri
Antognolla Golf Club
Terme di Saturnia Natural SPA & Golf Resort
Each stop includes opportunities for competitive play, technical masterclasses with a world-renowned professional golfer, and elegant hospitality rooted in Italian culture.
In November, the second itinerary, Italian Swing, takes travellers through Central and Southern Italy. This route features premium courses such as San Domenico Golf Club in Puglia, The Club at Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, and Argentario Golf Club — Italy’s only PGA-licensed facility.
Golf, Gourmet and Grand Design
Designed for an international audience, this is no ordinary golf tour. With interiors inspired by 1960s Italian glamour, Michelin-level dining on board, and personalised service throughout, the La Dolce Vita Orient Express offers a rare fusion of luxury travel and championship sport.
Created in collaboration with the Italian Golf Federation (FIG) and Infront (official advisor to FIG), the itineraries are part of a wider push to showcase Italy as a leader in sustainable, high-end golf tourism.
Every stop offers not just exceptional golf, but also bespoke experiences — from gourmet tastings and vineyard visits to cultural encounters and designer relaxation.
