London’s latest cultural crossover event, MotoArto, is set to break boundaries as art and engineering unite under one roof – or more accurately, one hood.
Taking place at The Bike Shed in Shoreditch from July 3–5, the debut exhibition will see world-renowned British artist Sophie Tea live-paint an all-new Porsche Macan Electric, turning it into a vibrant rolling canvas of colour and creativity. This marks the first time a Porsche Macan Electric has been transformed live in front of an audience – and Sophie’s largest canvas to date.

“I’ve always dreamed of painting a car, and it had to be a Porsche,” said Sophie Tea, known for her signature energetic, colour-rich aesthetic. “The brand is iconic, bold, stylish, and unafraid to push boundaries – just like my art. I’m thrilled to bring my world of colour and expression to the automotive space.”
Over the three-day event, Sophie will work in full view of visitors to create the bespoke ‘Art Car’, using bold pinks, lilacs and reds. The immersive experience is a key part of MotoArto’s mission to challenge the traditional boundaries between art, engineering, and culture.
Founded by Marchella de Angelis, MotoArto is not just another car show – it’s an entire movement. “We created MotoArto to celebrate bold, new interpretations fuelled by creativity, rebellion, and the outlaw spirit,” she explains. “Bringing together two cult icons in Porsche and Sophie Tea is the perfect match.”
World Premieres from Automotive Artisans
The event also plays host to several global unveilings. Thornley Kelham, the award-winning restoration house, will debut its breathtaking interpretation of the Jaguar XK Roadster, meticulously reimagined using over 6,000 hours of design, handcrafting, and cutting-edge technology.
Motorcycle innovation also takes centre stage, with artisan builders Renard and Langen unveiling two stunning machines. Renard presents a collaboration with The Prodigy’s Maxim, blending music, art and engineering into a custom-painted ride, while Langen reveals its much-anticipated Lightspeed motorcycle, showcasing the brand’s signature fusion of artistry and performance.

A New Cultural Canvas
More than 20 leading and emerging artists will showcase never-before-seen automotive-inspired artworks, including sculpture, installations, wall art, and moving imagery. From custom builds to conceptual pieces, the exhibition captures the rebellious energy of the growing ‘Outlaw’ movement – a cultural shift that celebrates the creative reinterpretation of iconic vehicles.
With the rise in popularity of re-envisioned classics and modified masterpieces, MotoArto provides a dedicated space for this new wave of automotive appreciation – part design show, part art fair, all attitude.
