Forget the Five-Star Hotel: Aman at Sea Is Taking the Caribbean

Imagine waking up in an Aman suite, opening the curtains and finding the Caribbean has quite literally changed outside your window. No repacking, no airport, no hotel transfer. That is the very tempting premise behind Amangati.

Aman at Sea has added 12 winter Caribbean itineraries for early 2028, with destinations including Martinique, Guadeloupe and the Grenadines. The experience promises to feel less like traditional cruising and more like an Aman resort that happens to change its view overnight.

A yacht with hotel instincts

Amangati is planned with 47 suites across nine decks, bringing Aman’s trademark calm, residential design language to the water. The concept images are all warm wood, finely judged proportions and private outdoor spaces, with the sea as the main attraction.

The wider programme will offer places to dine, unwind and focus on wellness, though perhaps the greatest luxury is the chance to retreat to a private terrace whenever the mood strikes. Privacy, after all, is not usually something associated with a cruise ship.

Why the Caribbean is such a perfect fit

The Mediterranean may be the natural stage for the European superyacht, but the Caribbean offers a different rhythm. Quiet anchorages, colourful island towns and winter sunshine make a compelling proposition when northern Europe is contemplating another rainy afternoon.

One of the great pleasures of an island-hopping holiday should be discovering somewhere unexpected, rather than merely ticking a destination off a list. Amangati’s size and approach suggest the emphasis will be on slowing down, not speeding through.

When can you sail?

The additional departures are scheduled for January to March 2028. Final routes, prices and availability should be checked directly through https://www.amanatsea.com/.
