This July, Nova Maldives invites ocean lovers, conservationists, and curious travellers to experience the Maldives like never before, with the launch of Ocean Adventure Week in partnership with global diving authority, PADI. Running from 13th to 20th July 2025, this eight-day immersive programme transforms the South Ari Atoll into a living classroom-where education, adventure, and preservation go hand in hand.
Set in one of the Maldives’ richest marine ecosystems, Ocean Adventure Week offers guests the chance to swim alongside manta rays, track sea turtles, and encounter the gentle giants of the deep: whale sharks. With activities spanning epic guided dives, conservation workshops, ocean-inspired screenings and female-led community moments, this is a retreat with real depth.
Ocean Meets Impact

The week is designed to do more than dazzle, it empowers. Guests will take part in coral conservation workshops, PADI AWARE courses focused on ethical diving, and participate in reef clean-up dives that leave the ocean better than they found it.
A special highlight? Women’s Dive Day (celebrated globally on 20th July), which Nova Maldives honours with an all-female dive, photo call, and story-sharing circle. It’s a powerful celebration of women making waves in ocean conservation—led by two standout figures in marine activism.
Meet the Leaders Beneath the Surface
India Black, a PADI AmbassaDiver and celebrated ocean storyteller, will lead the week alongside Zoona Naseem, Nova’s resident marine biologist. India’s mission is to inspire a new generation of ethical divers, while Zoona brings science to life with her deep knowledge of coral regeneration and reef ecosystems.
Together, they’ll guide snorkelling safaris in search of whale sharks and mantas, lead engaging evening talks, and host screenings of Blue Planet II under the stars.
Sample Highlights Include:
Manta Quest Snorkels and Turtle Quests led by India and Zoona
Whale Shark Excursions in the South Ari Marine Protected Area
Ocean Clean-Up Dive and Coral Planting Workshops
PADI AWARE Certification Course
Evening Talks on marine biology and migration
Sunset Socials and community moments at Wink Bar
Ocean Adventure Week isn't just a bucket-list experience—it’s a chance to join a movement. Whether you're a seasoned diver or curious beginner, this is your passport to deeper exploration, led by women who are shaping the future of our oceans.
