Missoni is extending its distinctive design language into Portugal with the reveal of Aroeira Collections, a new branded residential development set on the sun-drenched southern coast of Lisbon.

Nestled within the vast 864-acre Herdade da Aroeira estate—just 30 minutes from the city—the project marks the fashion house’s first hospitality-led real estate venture in the country. Construction only began in September, yet demand is already strong: nearly one-third of the residences have been reserved.

Design-Led Living Against a Natural Backdrop

Spread across a landscape of pine forest and rolling sand dunes near the Atlantic, Aroeira Collections balances Missoni’s signature aesthetic with light-touch, environmentally sensitive architecture. The master plan, conceived by chief architect Ana Costa alongside Pedro Domingos and Valmor Award-winner João Favila Meneses, follows a simple philosophy: build low, use natural materials, and let the landscape lead.

Wood, stone, and clean-lined forms ground the buildings into their setting, while large openings amplify natural light, cross-ventilation, and outdoor living.

A Curated Mix of Homes, Villas and Apartments

The development introduces a refined mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses arranged between the estate’s pine groves, each with split-level layouts and generous outdoor areas. The most exclusive zone comprises 28 villas positioned along the golf greens. Eight premium villas enjoy uninterrupted fairway views, while 20 additional serviced villas form part of the hospitality offering. These come fully designed by Missoni, complete with custom furnishings by Atelier Daciano da Costa and private patios with dipping pools.

Upper living spaces are oriented to capture sunlight, tree canopies and the estate’s calming sense of stillness.

Further enriching the residential mix are 40 apartments—two- and three-bedroom configurations ideal for both full-time living and investment. Across the entire project, pedestrian flow has been prioritised: meandering paths and landscaped gardens connect residents to a local restaurant, greengrocer, multiple pools, a wellness centre, tennis and padel courts, and two PGA-branded golf courses. Native plants including aroeira, lavender and rosemary ensure ecological continuity and reduced water use.

The Missoni Touch

While the architecture leans minimalist and low-impact, Missoni’s unmistakable personality comes through in the serviced villas and hospitality spaces.

Expect the brand’s iconic zigzags, earthy neutrals punctuated by vibrant accents, and a curated selection of furnishings—including reissues of classic Portuguese pieces such as the Poltrona Daciano da Costa armchair, newly reimagined in Missoni textiles.

The result is a home that feels both rooted in local culture and infused with Italian artistic flair.

A New Destination for Modern Coastal Living

The first phase of Aroeira Collections is scheduled for completion in late 2028, with developers confident that the project will meet rising demand for lifestyle-driven homes near Lisbon. With its blend of nature, architectural restraint and Missoni’s unmistakable creative identity, Aroeira Collections is poised to become one of Portugal’s most desirable design-led enclaves—where contemporary coastal living meets fashion-house craftsmanship.
