Caprice Bourret has never done things halfway. To the world, she first appeared as the bombshell who fronted Vogue in the 1990s, becoming one of the most recognisable faces in fashion. But behind the lens was a woman already strategising her next move, a woman who would go on to become a brand in her own right, an interiors tastemaker, and now, a producer of globally distributed films that wrap the world in love and light.

From Supermodel To Self-Made Mogul
“I’m from a humble background, but also a very entrepreneurial one,” she says.
“I had that American ambition, I came out of the womb thinking I was going to be governor of California!” That ambition would serve her well.
The Vogue cover, while iconic, was only the beginning. “It opened doors for me, and it was a great name to have on my modelling CV. But I had no idea how big it would all go. I ended up travelling all over the world and making tons of money in my early twenties.”
Now, decades into a career that spans fashion, business, entertainment, and wellness, Caprice describes this chapter as one of purpose. “Some people might call it career diversification, and yes, if we’re talking business, that’s probably true. But for me, it’s about going back to my passion. I started acting early on, I starred in the West End, where I also produced. This chapter in my life is amazing, and it keeps getting better.”
The Business Of Building A Brand
From the outside, Caprice’s transition from model to businesswoman may have seemed seamless. Inside, it was all hustle. “When I launched By Caprice, I had to stalk retailers until they couldn’t say no,” she says. “People stereotyped me, and I had to prove my business acumen with hard numbers to be taken seriously. I used to hear, ‘Oh, she’s a model, she’ll be shut down in six months.’ Think again, sister!”
What she was doing, at the time, was unprecedented. She negotiated licensing deals for her product lines long before it became common practice, and later, bought the license back to bring it in-house. “Luckily, the CEO at the time, Terry Green, took a chance on me, and oh boy, did I make them a lot of money!”
That fierce independence, she says, was ingrained early. “My mum was a successful interior designer and taught me to be fiercely independent and go for what you want. That’s what drives me, that and money! So many people are scared to say they love making money, not me. I love making money, and so should anyone.”

Love On Her Terms: Caprice’s Second Act
Her latest reinvention sees her producing and starring in feel-good festive films under her company JJLove Productions, named after her sons, Jett and Jax. “You’re the first to spot that!” she smiles. “I launched my own production company because I was getting stereotyped again. I had a few small movie parts but couldn’t even get past the casting stage. So the American entrepreneur in me thought, I’ll do it myself. I invested in myself. You only get one life and you’ve got to live it.”
It paid off. Her romantic comedies, including A Toast to Love, A European Christmas, and the upcoming A Scottish Christmas Secret, have now aired in more than 25 countries, including Channel 5 in the UK and Amazon Prime in the U.S. “It’s romcom, it has a set formula. You know how it ends, but we love it anyway. It’s feel-good and uplifting, and that’s what really resonates with our audiences.”
As executive producer, Caprice now holds both the creative and commercial reins. “You learn fast. I partnered with someone more experienced for my first movie and soaked it up like a sponge. It’s hard work, but the reward? Seeing your creative vision come to life, it’s magic.”
Asked whether she prefers playing the heroine or the villain, she grins. “Ooo, that’s a tough one! Playing the villain is so much fun, you can really play with the character. But the heroine tends to be the lead in romcoms, so I’d have to say heroine. They’re always my most loved characters. But for fun? Of course, it’s the villain every time.”
Wellness As A Way Of Life
Known for her radiant skin and healthy lifestyle, Caprice is a vocal advocate of holistic wellness.
“I like to give my digestion a break, so apart from a super healthy smoothie packed full of nutrients and about 40 vitamins every morning, I’ll take a workout class, then have a yummy organic vegetarian salad for lunch. I snack on nuts for energy. I usually go for a run a few times a week while the boys are at tennis.”
Her go-to skincare ritual? “My derma roller has been incredible for skin rejuvenation and anti-ageing around the eyes. It’s a wonder product for stimulating natural collagen production. I am also in bed by 9pm most nights!”
And the one product she can’t live without? “Ozmosis water, it’s fundamental in my view for health. It comes out of every tap in my house.”
The practice that’s changed her life the most? Meditation. “I do it daily or as often as I can — it helps with stress, focus and clarity.”

London, LA & The Ibiza Dream
She splits her time between three cities, but it’s clear each home serves a different side of her.
“I visit LA as often as I can, mum and family are there, and of course, the weather’s unbeatable. But for entertainment, activities, and trends, London is where it’s at.”
Despite the jet-set lifestyle, her home in Ibiza is her true sanctuary. “My dream home is really about having my family close, kind of like my Ibiza house now. I step out onto the balcony, overlooking the pool, and watch my boys playing tennis or basketball on the court. That, to me, is the dream.”
Her approach to property? Decidedly pragmatic. “It’s all about the numbers, honey. If it works on paper and has the potential to make a small fortune, that’s what I look for. You have to know what to look for, and that comes with experience. Examining the comps is crucial, otherwise, you could be making a huge mistake.”
A Life Beyond The Spotlight
Caprice has built a multi-million-pound business, produced films across continents, and spoken at CEO summits and universities.
But her proudest legacy? “My boys. 1000%.”
She also gives her time as a patron for Brain Tumour Research. “I had a serious health scare a few years ago, and it completely changed my perspective. If you’ve been through something like that, you realise what really matters. If you’re in a position to give back, and I’m grateful that I am, then I think you should. Giving back is very important to me.”
Her advice to the next generation of women building something of their own? “You will get knocked down. The ones who are successful will keep getting back up after being knocked down. You have to keep going. Use every experience, good or bad, as a lesson.”
Caprice Bourret is no longer just the woman who stopped traffic on magazine covers. She’s the strategist behind a high-performing brand, the creative force behind a global film company, and the heart behind a legacy built on resilience and joy.
