Flexjet’s New Farnborough Terminal Brings Private-Club Polish to the Departure Lounge

A private aviation journey begins well before anyone steps onto an aircraft. Flexjet’s new terminal at Farnborough puts that part of the experience under the spotlight, with hospitality spaces designed to make time on the ground feel like part of the trip.

Officially opened on 10 September 2026, the 2,098-square-metre facility is the company’s first dedicated European terminal. It sits separately from Farnborough Airport’s main terminal and serves Flexjet passengers, rather than operating as a lounge available to all private flyers.

A Gulfstream cabin, without leaving the ground

Among the features announced by Flexjet is the Fuselage Lounge: a full-size recreation of its Gulfstream G700 cabin, including a bedroom suite. Other facilities include an owners’ bar and lounge, private meeting rooms and dedicated security and immigration provision through Farnborough Airport.

The building also accommodates Flexjet’s European headquarters, operational control facilities and an expanded Red Label Academy for cabin staff. It is therefore both a passenger-facing address and a working base for the business.

A more residential approach to airport design

Carver Hain Art + Design led the interiors. In Wallpaper’s account of the project, warm colours, textured furnishings and softly lit seating give the rooms a residential character. The report identifies furniture and lighting from names including B&B Italia, Cassina and Bert Frank, alongside bespoke artwork.

An oval bar provides a social centre, while the meeting spaces are designed to accommodate more than a brief pause before boarding. The G700 recreation also serves a practical role, allowing cabin staff to train in a setting modelled on the aircraft itself.

For a traveller using Farnborough, the proposition is straightforward: a place to work, meet or unwind within the same service environment as the flight. The quality of that experience will ultimately depend on the people delivering it as much as the furniture and finishes.

What the opening means for UK travellers

This is a new facility for eligible Flexjet owners and guests, not a public airport lounge or a replacement for Farnborough’s existing terminal. Access should be confirmed with the operator as part of travel arrangements.

For UK-based clients, the opening adds a dedicated base at a familiar private aviation departure point. Its emphasis on hospitality makes the terminal itself part of the service, whether passengers are returning home or setting off.
