First Look: Cambridge House Will Bring Auberge to Mayfair in February 2027

A Georgian ballroom restaurant from the group behind Carbone, six historic suites in former royal apartments and a bathhouse spread across three floors: Cambridge House has revealed the first details of the Mayfair hotel that will mark Auberge Collection’s UK debut.

The opening of Cambridge House, Auberge Collection is announced for 1 February 2027. Reservations are now open, with the launch release listing bookable stays from 1 April and room-only rates starting at £1,250.

At 94 Piccadilly, the former home of the ‘In & Out’ Naval and Military Club is being transformed into a 102-room hotel as part of Reuben Brothers’ £1 billion regeneration of the Piccadilly Estate. The address places it between Green Park and Shepherd Market, with a substantial part of its appeal aimed at Londoners coming for dinner, drinks or the spa.

A first look at Jean-Louis Deniot’s interiors

Jean-Louis Deniot is responsible for the hotel’s rooms and guest spaces, while Laura Gonzalez is designing the signature bar, wellbeing facilities and a members’ club planned for later in 2027.

The newly released material offers an early look at Deniot’s work through photography of a completed model guest room, alongside architectural renderings of the Augusta Suite, a signature suite and the exterior. The Augusta is one of six historic suites occupying the building’s former royal apartments.

The distinction matters for anyone planning a stay: most of this first look shows the proposed finished spaces, rather than photography of a completed hotel. What it establishes is the breadth of the project, from standard rooms to some of the house’s most historically significant accommodation.

The Grade I-listed mansion was commissioned in 1756 by the 2nd Earl of Egremont. Its later occupants included the Duke of Cambridge and Lord Palmerston, before the Naval and Military Club made it home from 1865 to 1999. That history gives the restoration an architectural character few new-build hotels can reproduce.

Major’s brings the team behind Carbone to Piccadilly

For London diners, Major’s may be the announcement with the most immediate pull. Major Food Group, whose restaurants include Carbone and Torrisi, is developing a new concept that brings together the American chophouse and the London grill.

It will occupy the restored Georgian ballroom and Palmerston Court, a courtyard planned with jasmine planting. British ingredients will underpin a menu of meat, fish and game, with seafood towers, caviar service and carving trolleys for spit-roasted prime rib lending the room a deliberately theatrical dining style.

British makers have been commissioned for bespoke china and trolleys. The drinks programme promises at least 10 variations on the martini—a detail likely to make the bar a destination in its own right.

Baeden House: a three-floor spa in Mayfair

The hotel’s wellbeing destination, Baeden House, draws on Roman bathhouse traditions. Plans include a heated swimming pool, hydrotherapy facilities, six treatment rooms and a circular relaxation lounge arranged around a central fire pit.

Gyms, studios and wet and heat rooms complete the three-floor offering. Access arrangements and any membership requirements will be worth checking as the opening approaches; the announcement does not set out day-spa booking terms.

When does Cambridge House open—and can you book?

Auberge’s announcement gives 1 February 2027 as the opening date, while its published reservation details specify stays from 1 April 2027. Anyone seeking a February or March stay should contact the hotel directly before making plans.

Announced rates start at £1,250 per room, per night, on a room-only basis. The hotel’s guest information also states that a discretionary 5% accommodation service charge will be added on departure.

For London, the interest extends well beyond another expensive suite. A long-private Piccadilly address is preparing to return to the city’s social life, with a ballroom restaurant and bathhouse giving locals reasons to step inside.
