September in London has the energy of a second new year. Diaries refill, evenings become sharper and the capital’s dining rooms begin their autumn reveal. In 2026, that return comes with a particularly tempting collection of openings.

The best new London restaurant openings for September 2026 move easily between polished and playful. Gordon Ramsay is bringing elevated British dining to the Thames, Beefbar is giving Soho a suitably glamorous steakhouse and Romy Gill is returning to a permanent London kitchen. Elsewhere, there are Turkish flavours cooked over fire, pan pizza made with heritage grains, two very different smashburger arrivals and a ten-seat Italian-Japanese omakase.

In other words, the new season is providing plenty of reasons to make a reservation. These are the London restaurants to know now.

Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers

Few London restaurants arrive with a backdrop as persuasive as the Thames. Gordon Ramsay’s new all-day dining room at Sea Containers pairs British produce with uninterrupted river views, creating the sort of South Bank address that can carry a breakfast meeting straight through to dinner.

Seafood plays a leading role, with oysters, Cornish crab and native lobster sitting alongside premium cuts from the grill and familiar Ramsay signatures. Add a long waterside terrace, an elegant dining room and views towards Blackfriars Bridge and St Paul’s, and this is an opening designed for lingering.

KID

Chef Sertaç Dirik, one of the names behind Mangal II’s acclaimed evolution, is stepping into the spotlight with KID. Created with OMA and AGORA founder David Carter, the Soho restaurant explores Dirik’s Turkish heritage through seasonal produce from Britain.

The wood-fired oven and grill sit at the heart of the experience. Tombik pide, coal-cooked Cornish scallops and clay-braised goat kid give the menu its sense of place, while a downstairs bakery brings another reason to visit earlier in the day. Counter seats overlooking the fire are likely to become the ones everyone wants.

Manna

After building a loyal following at Arcade, Manna has opened its first standalone restaurant in Marylebone. The mood borrows from the burger bars of the 1980s and 1990s, while the menu remains pleasingly focused: crisp-edged smashburgers, waffle fries and plenty of nostalgia.

The Double Manna and Classic Smash will be familiar to existing fans, but the Marylebone-only desserts deserve their own moment. There is a strawberry-milk trifle with Bird’s Custard, plus cola floats in classic, chocolate and cherry. It is walk-in only, so a little patience may be required.

Where: 54 James Street, London W1U 1EU

Kerridge’s and Georgie’s Bar at Corinthia London

Tom Kerridge’s London flagship returns with a more intimate dining room and a new bar next door. Kerridge’s is now a 57-cover restaurant, continuing its confident, produce-led approach to British cooking under Head Chef Tom Childs.

Crab crumpets, Orkney scallop pie, whole Cornish lobster Thermidor and beautifully sourced steaks bring occasion to the table without losing Kerridge’s generous spirit. Georgie’s Bar, meanwhile, is ready to become a destination in its own right. Four freezer Martinis lead the drinks list, while fried chicken, brisket cheeseburgers and shellfish brioche rolls make a persuasive case for staying. On Saturday nights, a DJ takes the evening in a livelier direction.

God Save The Pizza

Roberto Costa, founder of Macellaio RC, is swapping steak for Roman-style pizza on Exmouth Market. God Save The Pizza puts the attention firmly on the toppings, using thin, crisp sourdough as the base rather than the main event.

There are elegant combinations for traditionalists, including tomato with mozzarella cream and Parmesan. Then there is the deliberately provocative Extremist, layered with ham, cheddar, pineapple sauce and four-cheese cream. Diners can also choose up to four toppings and build their own, which should settle absolutely no arguments about what belongs on a pizza.

Beefbar at Dear Jackie

Beefbar is taking over Dear Jackie at Broadwick Soho for its new UK flagship. The international restaurant group is known for treating the steakhouse as a glamorous night out, and its London arrival looks set to follow suit.

Japanese Kobe and Australian Wagyu headline the offering, balanced by lighter dishes with a Riviera influence and plates created specifically for the capital. Redesigned interiors and a new terrace complete the transformation. For polished Soho dinners with a sense of theatre, this is one to watch.

When: 10 September 2026

Where: Lower Ground, 20 Broadwick Street, London W1F 9NE

Pearl

Mayfair’s elevated Brown Hart Gardens is gaining a new all-day restaurant from The Beaumont. Pearl is overseen by Culinary Director Lisa Goodwin-Allen and draws inspiration from the Mediterranean, moving between Italy, Spain and Greece without becoming tied to one coastline.

The day begins with coffee, pastries and breakfast before easing into à la carte dining, spritzes and aperitivo. Outside, a generous terrace takes its cues from Milanese piazzas and Riviera promenades. Tucked above the surrounding streets, it should feel like a small escape from Mayfair without ever leaving it.

When: 14 September 2026

Where: 8 Balderton Street, Brown Hart Gardens, London W1K 6TF

Romy Gill at The Pem

Romy Gill MBE is returning to a permanent restaurant kitchen for the first time in six years, taking over The Pem at Conrad London St. James. Her menu travels through India’s regional cooking, with Punjab, Kerala and Bengal among its reference points.

Gill’s butter chicken appears alongside samosa chaat, hand-dived scallops with raw mango and date-tamarind, ghee-roasted quail and slow-braised lamb with Kashmiri morels. The generous, sharing-led approach continues at the bar, where cardamom, coconut, cumin and pomegranate find their way into classic cocktails. This feels less like a comeback than a very welcome new chapter.

When: 17 September 2026

Where: 22–28 Broadway, London SW1H 0BH

Five Feet

Five Feet brings together Legare co-founder Jay Patel, WatchHouse founder Roland Horne and baker Jack Ellingham, whose CV includes Dusty Knuckle and Spring. Their Bermondsey restaurant centres on thick, airy pan pizzas made from heritage British grains milled on site.

The toppings are reassuringly indulgent: fennel sausage with ricotta and Calabrian chilli honey, or potato with caramelised onion, scamorza and aged cheddar. Wings, focaccia di Recco and a generous selection of dips round out the menu. Come hungry and bring people who understand that sharing a pizza still requires ordering several.

When: September 2026

Where: Ground Floor, 4 Tanner Street, London SE1 3LD

Talli Queen

Former River Café chef and Pahli Hill founder Avi Shashidhara is transforming a 120-year-old Shepherd’s Bush pub into Talli Queen. Inspired by Kerala’s toddy shops, Bangalore’s pubs and India’s wider drinking culture, it is a pub at heart with a menu that travels much further.

Toddy-shop clams, Kerala chilli beef, kebabs, goat nihari and Shashidhara’s Great British Menu papadi chaat all feature. Sundays bring an Indian interpretation of the roast, while 18 draught lines ensure the drinks receive equal attention. It sounds lively, generous and exactly right for a long afternoon that quietly turns into evening.

When: September 2026

Where: 412 Uxbridge Road, London W12 0NR

Nettle

Five floors above Covent Garden, Nettle is bringing a farm-led restaurant and rooftop garden to The Conduit. It is open to non-members, which is useful news for anyone tempted by the views and Chef Will Devlin’s produce-first cooking.

Much of that produce comes from Devlin’s own farm and butchery in Kent. The charcoal-led menu moves through house-cured meats, hake croquettes, wild rabbit, Kent lamb and whole day-boat fish. With the kitchen closely connected to the land and a rooftop made for the final warm evenings of the year, Nettle offers a quieter kind of luxury: provenance, seasonality and space above the city.

When: September 2026

Where: Fifth Floor, The Conduit, 6 Langley Street, London WC2H 9JA

Bamboo Mat Canary Wharf

Bamboo Mat is expanding from Stratford to Wood Wharf with an 82-cover restaurant spread across two floors. The new flagship gives each part of its Japanese-Peruvian menu room to breathe: raw fish and cocktails downstairs, with robata, sushi and the hot kitchen upstairs.

Sushi, ceviche, tiradito and teriyaki sit at the centre of the Nikkei offering, balancing Japanese precision with Peruvian colour and acidity. With natural woods, concrete and warm lighting shaping the dining room, the larger site looks ready to bring a little more evening energy to Canary Wharf.

When: September 2026

Where: 1 North Street, Wood Wharf, London E14

Bunso

The team behind Belly is opening an all-day neighbourhood restaurant in Kentish Town. Bunso begins the morning as a bakery, with laminated pastries, savoury bakes and coffee, before changing pace in the evening and becoming a pizzeria.

Founder Omar Shah’s Filipino heritage will appear through ingredients and techniques rather than strict labels, woven across pizza, crudo, kinilaw, salads and pasta. A purpose-built hi-fi system playing vinyl and CDs adds another layer to the experience. It has all the ingredients of the kind of neighbourhood opening people become protective of very quickly.

Where: 1A Hawley Road, London NW1 8RP

Marrion’s

Elliott Kaye, formerly of Lyle’s, The French House and Leroy and a co-founder of Norman’s, is going solo in Hackney. Marrion’s is a walk-in neighbourhood bar built around uncomplicated food, fairly priced drinks and the dangerous promise of stopping by for only one.

The menu brings together devilled crab rarebit, pork schnitzel Holstein, moules frites, prawn cocktail and a proper tuna melt, with dishes priced from £6 to £16. Spanish vermouth, £5 glasses of wine and a rotating house Martini keep the drinks equally approachable. Sunday brunch is planned too, for anyone ready to begin again.

ALBA Omakase

ALBA is adding a ten-seat omakase counter with just one sitting each evening at 7.30pm. Creative Chef Dmytro Pak has developed nine- and 12-course menus, led nightly by Japanese Head Chef Takuya Kaneko, formerly of Zuma.

Ingredients including Hokkaido uni, bluefin otoro and Kristal and Beluga caviar set the tone, but the concept becomes most interesting where Italy meets Japan. Both cuisines share an instinct for pristine seafood and confident simplicity; here, those connections become the basis of a highly intimate tasting experience. With only ten places a night, advance planning is essential.
