Sarah Jessica Parker has never been one to play it safe. From her decades-defining turn as Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw to her ventures in fashion, fragrance, theatre and philanthropy, she has always had a knack for setting the cultural agenda.

Now, Parker is turning her attention to the world of fine jewellery, stepping into the role of Global Creative Director and Founding Partner of Astrea London.

Astrea is no ordinary jewellery house. Founded just two years ago by Nathalie Morrison, the brand is already making waves for its focus on lab-grown diamonds at the very top of the market.

These aren’t the entry-level stones often associated with the technology; Astrea produces only the rarest grades — diamonds that account for just 0.01% of those found worldwide.

For Parker, the move feels both natural and necessary. “I have always believed in sustainability and innovation in design. Joining Astrea London feels like a natural step – together, we are embracing the future of diamonds in a way that is both responsible and beautiful,” she said on the announcement.

Astrea has grown at a remarkable pace, with outposts in Provence, Windsor and Greece already established.

This October, three new Dubai boutiques will open, including a flagship at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah, alongside an intriguingly named Seven Carats Afternoon Tea Experience. Parker will also launch her first designs for the brand later this year — a capsule of twelve pieces that she has already helped to shape.

Diamonds, of course, have long been shorthand for status and romance, but Parker and Morrison are intent on broadening the conversation. Their vision of luxury is about longevity, craft and conscience as much as glamour.

Or as Morrison herself put it: “Sarah Jessica epitomises timeless style, innovation, and integrity. Together, we will create jewellery that not only represents the highest craftsmanship but also redefines what it means to own a diamond in today’s world.”

It is a bold move for Parker, aligning her name not just with design but with the future of an industry in transition. Whether worn on a red carpet or at an afternoon tea in Dubai, Astrea’s diamonds seem set to challenge our expectations of what luxury can be — brilliant, rare, but also responsible.
