Nobu Hotel Barcelona has unveiled its latest culinary offering, the ‘Omakase Barcelona’ menu, to coincide with Catalonia being named the first European World Region of Gastronomy for 2025.
This recognition, awarded by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, highlights regions that focus on improving the quality of life for residents through sustainable agriculture and food education, as well as the cultural significance of their cuisine.
The new seasonal menu, available at the hotel’s Nobu restaurant, celebrates this milestone with a fusion of Catalonian and Japanese flavours, showcasing the best local ingredients combined with Nobu’s signature techniques.
The menu features a six-course meal designed to highlight the region’s seasonal produce and offer an authentic yet innovative dining experience. Some of the standout dishes include Tuna Tataki with Truffle Tosazu, Wild Mediterranean Seabass with Spelt Squid Ink, and Mango and Ginger Ile Flottante for dessert.
With sustainability at its core, 79% of the ingredients used in the menu come from local Catalonian suppliers. This commitment to sourcing locally ensures that each dish is made with the freshest and most sustainable produce available.
Priced at €149 (£125) per person, the ‘Omakase Barcelona’ menu will be available until 30 April 2025. Deluxe rooms at the hotel are available from €249 (£213) per night on a room-only basis for those wishing to enjoy a full experience.
