Here, Katie reviews, in her own words, some of the world's most popular lingerie brands.
As a bra expert, I often know a bad bra just by looking at it. But, does spending more actually mean you are going to have a better quality bra? Finding luxury brands above an F cup was quite a challenge!
Here, for The Life of Luxury, I am going to review 14 luxury bras, starting at £32 to £174.
1. Prima Donna – Arthill Full Cup Bra, £118
Rating: 9/10
This bra looks luxurious, there is nothing better than a fresh white set of lingerie and
you best ensure you hand wash this set as you do not want to ruin it after one wash!
The full cup bra with side support offers a great rounded and uplifted shape which is
perfect for everyday wear, the tulle cups are finished with a satin embroidery to elevate the luxurious feel.
This collection goes to a 44 band and an H cup which is wonderful news for Curvy, Fuller Bust women who truly want to invest in a stylish set of lingerie.
2. Scantilly – Peep Show Sage Green Bra, £42
Rating: 9/10
Sexy and luxury for the fuller bust meet at Peep Show!
This bra offer cleavage like no other, it is sexy, supportive and wearable for fuller bust women who want that deeper plunge to a UK J cup.
The panel which sits across the bust acts as side support to bring your boobs into the middle of the body for the best forward projection and cleavage.
It isn’t an everyday bra but it is oh so sexy!
3. Aubade – Rhythm of Desire Half Cup Bra, £110
Rating: 8/10
This bra is beautiful, the vibrant colour of the lace which emblazons the cups, the centre detailing of almost golden rope entwined in the pop of berry just elevates the elegance of this bra.
Because of the all over lace design, the bra does lack oomph in uplift, but if you are looking for a bra to offer a gorgeous natural shape and support, this style is for you.
4. Elomi – Brianna Plunge Bra, £44
Rating: 9/10
Lace and harness details combined make Brianna the perfect luxurious fuller figure,
fuller bust bra.
Elomi is renowned for its quality and comfort with in the fuller bust market and for me, I love to see sexy details coming into play in such a wide size range. Brianna is available in sizes 32-40, E-K cup with some smaller cups going to a 44 band.
The harness details elevate outfits, you can wear this bra as statement underwear as outerwear look or take your simple plunging necklines to the next level with the pretty details. Brianna delivers the sexy, pretty, luxury without compromising on support, shape or uplift.
5. Panache – Meadow Plunge Bra, £42
Rating: 10/10
I love this product, the fit and comfort of this plunge bra is second to none. It fits like
a glove, offering amazing natural shape and considerable uplift without padding.
I adore the floral embroidery scattered across the plunging cups, it feels like so a fresh
and light collection which for D-J cup are words you don’t often use!
It is a fuller coverage plunge, but you still get that low centre front to wear with more plunging outfits.
The Sales Associate in Selfridges informed be that Panache was the best-selling
brand in her department for GG+ customers and I totally understand why, quality, fit
and uplift.
6. Fantasie – Ana Side Support Bra, £45
Rating: 8/10
Side support bras are a fuller busts best friend!
Ana offers structure, comfort and luxury with Swiss embroidery adorning the cups of this classic bra shape. The fit of this bra is on point, if you are looking for a fuller coverage, everyday bra to a J cup then Ana is the one.
I love how widely available Fantasie bras are, especially on the High St, as they are stocked by the majority of John Lewis stores and in the luxury department stores of Harrods and Selfridges, so that you can try on in person.
7. Agent Provocateur – Paige Full Cup Bra, £110
Rating: 6/10
I had the most wonderful shopping experience in Agent Provocateur with the help of
Agent Mollie.
Unfortunately, in-store they did not carry over an E cup, but Mollie was able to show me other options that were not cup-sized, including the Gena Satin corset priced at £625, available from Size 1 to size 5 (equating to a 0-12/14).
I found the size range disappointing, especially when the models in the adverts are
clearly fuller bust. I would size them between a 28G and 30H, yet they are wearing
the A-E cups that AP has to offer.
I find this type of advertising frustrating as they are leaning into the media’s view of DD’s as being huge when in the fuller bust industry we know this is a starting size and the majority of 36DD wearers when fitted end up being above a G cup!
I wish the amazing shopping experience and store would have a size range to match, curvy is always in fashion.
8. Katherine Hamilton – Grace Vintage Rose Gold Plunge Bra, £135
Rating: 8/10
Grace is stunning, she is luxurious yet wearable for everyday thanks to the plunging
style a muted rose gold hue.
Katherine Hamilton lingerie starts from a 26 band and on through my bra fittings and 16 years of experience, I have met women wearing 32-34 A/B/C who are a 4-8 dress size and should be more of a 26/28 band, D-H cup!
Katherine sure offers luxury to these cup sizes and in a world of 28H being mistaken
for a 34DD, this website caters for those who are educated around bra size and
really want to invest in the correct bra.
Unfortunately, I found that many of the sizes were out of stock and the wait list for new lines/sizes is June but you can pre-order if you are wanting to top up your lingerie drawer for summer.
9. Bluebella – Marseille Lace Bralette, £32,
Rating: 5/10
As Bluebella offers underwired bras to an F cup, I did push the boundaries by trying
a dress sizes bralette.
I went for a Large in the which offered just enough coverage, but it was too big in the band which lacked support.
I think this bralette would look gorgeous with a tuxedo jacket or worn over a white shirt for a statement look but for me the support just wasn’t enough.
10. Playful Promises – Romana Plunge Bra, £40
Rating: 7/10
Romana is an assertive collection; this bra was designed to be seen and the
collection looks and feels luxurious at a reasonable price.
The satin and mesh mix offers a barely-there look on the body.
I found the plunge bra fitted true to size, but there was a slight puckering on the front seams which did distract from the beauty and fit of the product.
There is no doubt that the collection is sexy, I just wish there was a little more attention to detail with the finishing touches to the cups.
11. Empreinte – Invisible Full Cup Bra, £115
Rating: 9/10
This bra really did feel like I was wearing a cloud, the 3D spacer mould gives a
lovely, rounded shape and feels super breathable on the body.
This bra is certainly an everyday go to luxury style, it lives up to its name too with a seam-free cup design it sinks into the skin so that it becomes invisible under clothing!
12. Simone Perele – Karma Underwired Bra, £80
Rating: 8/10
A wonderful everyday bra, the Karma collection is delicate, and it feel so soft against
the skin. The fuller cup bra features tulle inside of the cups for added support and
projection.
As with the Aubade collection, I feel that the French luxury brands lack a little oomph
in the support and projection, the shapes feel supported but with a natural look
compared with the likes of Panache and Scantilly which really feel like they lift and
project the bust to another level!
13. Cosabella -Never Say Never Ultra Curvy Plungie Longline,£69.60
Rating: 6/10
This bralette is pretty, it has a wide hook and eye back band which does hug and
hold your body.
I like that the bralette is back and cup-sized so that you know you are getting 80% of that support from your back band which often lacks in dress sized bralettes.
Although more supportive than most, this bralette still isn’t giving the uplift of an underwired bra and for nearly £90 I would want a little more!
14. Harlow and Fox – Bella Bra, £220
Rating: 8/ 10
The epitome of luxury lingerie, it takes up to 3 weeks for your lingerie to arrive as this
is handmade fuller bust lingerie.
For fuller busts, delicate bras are often ones which we see our smaller busted friends purchase and are quite often the thing of dreams.
Harlow and Fox bring to life silk, embroidered and lace-adorned bras with indulgent,
beautiful and luxurious collections.
The Bella bra is all over French eye lash lace finished with a double layer satin backband which is sumptuous against the skin.
Whilst I wouldn’t choose this style as my everyday go-to bra, the reviews are saying
that some women do.
The price point reflects the level of engineering and time which goes into bespoke
luxury fuller bust lingerie, and for those of us who want a slice of that in our lingerie
drawer, I rate this brand.
Katie's Top Pick:
And finally, an overview on what you think the best luxury bra is.
After reviewing so many bras, I have realised that a luxury price tag doesn’t always
mean quality and fit for the fuller bust.
My favourite collection is the Panache Meadow Plunge Bra priced at £42 because I love that this is accessible luxury which can be worn every day. Panache does not compromise on support, shape or the finer details like embroidery and padded hook and eyes. I love that Panahce is available online but also has a high street presence in John Lewis, Selfridges and
Bravissimo.
